The CFR laser is a lamp pumped Nd:YAG laser featuring a degree of ruggedization not found in typical scientific lasers.
The CFR design has been vibration tested and each laser is temperature cycled overnight.
Provides 1064, 532, 355 µm.
50 million shots lamp lifetime guaranteed.
Built to withstand harsh environments.
To assure a rigid support for the Laser-Guiding Mirrors-Alignement ensemble an aluminum frame incorporates all relevant components. It serves also as a structure to rigify the overall telescope mecanical assembly. The Return Liquid fiber lightguide is also mounted on the same plate.
Our Lidar is equipped with automatic alignement system. Based on a ThornLabs CPU and motorized mirror it can align the laser beam relevant to the optical axis of the telescope by using a code developped at the laboratory optimizing the return signal by a circular movement.. The whole operation takes approximately 1-2min.
We use a LUMATEC 8mm liquid fiber lightguide to collect the return signal at the focal point of the telescope. We opted for this solution due to the good caracteristic of the fiber on the UV and the mecanical flexibility it provides. Light losses are of satisfactory levels, the fiber been efficient at the level of 70%.
